ABOLITION OF TRIPLE TALAQ: A STEP TOWARDS UNIFORM CIVIL CODE By Dr.Pankaj Dwivedi and Nitesh Kashyap

Abstract

Uniform civil code and Triple Talaq are two different issues. Uniform civil code is  provided in the Article 44 of The Constitution of India. The provision of Triple Talaq still prevails according to the law of Sharia as a Islamic Law. According to the Law of Sharia a Muslim can have four marriages as it is valid and if he renounces Talaq three times he can remarry after the period of “iddat.” There is main clash between Article 44 and Article 25 of The Constitution of India.
